About

An ON-Campus Farmers’ Market, meaning fresh food at your fingertips. Why local produce?… it’s fresher than the conventional transnational produce found in supermarkets which means it is tastier and more nutritious.

With YOUR volunteer support, attendance and feedback, and with the $5,250 in grants from GUSAFund and Re-Imagine Georgetown, we hope to establish a sustainable 6-7 Week Market in both the Fall and the Spring. Come out the market this fall on the following dates: September 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, and October 5th and 12th

The Farmers’ Market will be run under GUSA, with the support of The Corp, EcoAction, the Gastronomes, and other student groups

Mission: To improve access and availability of healthy, fresh foods on Georgetown’s campus, to improve the relationship with the surrounding community, to educate the University and Community through health promotion, and to support local economies

Why did you make on a Wednesday? It is the same day as the Georgetown Market…now they will be competing..

    • We decided to make it on a Wednesday because it is a good day for vendors and students alike! We hope to attract neighbors from Burleith and West Georgetown as well. I don’t think our market will compete with the Rose Park Market, as the two markets are far enough apart that they attract different sections of Georgetown. We are always open to mutual market synergy too 🙂
